what we do

In a secluded field in Somerset, JW BLOOMS grow traditional British flowers, cottage-garden favourites and wildflowers. If you’re looking for an alternative to stiff-stemmed, imported flowers — for your wedding, event or just the kitchen table — come and discover the beauty and fragrance of flowers grown the traditional way.

From March to October, we’re open six days a week for you to pop in and buy flowers. On summer Sundays, we invite you to wander round the Flower Field and enjoy coffee, cake and conversation in our Sheep Shed café. Or why not take a workshop? We offer courses on flower-growing and arranging, and garden crafts.

when are our flowers available?

Our flowers are grown using chemical-free methods and mostly outside, which means we’re very weather-dependent. Some years, we have lots of flowers to cut by early March: some years nothing really gets going until April. We usually start selling in earnest for Mothers’ Day and go on until the middle of October, but it’s a moveable feast. We update our opening times (below) regularly, so do check back, or sign up to our newsletter below to be notified of any changes.

A Haven for flower lovers and growers

As soon as it’s warm enough (usually late April), we open the JW BLOOMS flower field every Sunday from 10am - 4pm. We serve coffee, teas and homemade cakes in our Flower Field Café and have a selection of flowers and plants for sale. Come and wander through the flower beds, nose round the polytunnels and meet other flower lovers. Dogs on leads are very welcome.
