Weaving A Peony Cloche with Sarah Webb

Weaving A Peony Cloche with Sarah Webb

Sunday 28th July 10am - 1pm

Sarah ran a course with us in April and it was so popular that we’ve asked her back to run another day of courses in the Flower Field.

The quality of Sarah’s work is wonderful and on this half-day course, she will guide you through making a round plant support, ideal for keeping your peonies or other large perennials elegantly upright. If you have some experience of willow weaving, you may be able to complete two supports in the morning.

All materials and coffee/tea and biscuits are included.

“Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Willow weaving course on Sunday. In spite of a rather tentative start I came home with something really worthwhile which I am thrilled with [...] Sarah is an excellent tutor with endless patience…”

About Sarah

Based in Combwich in Somerset’s willow-growing heartland, Sarah has been weaving willow since she was 17 and apprenticed to local basketmaker Norman Studley. Through him, she embarked on a journey that still inspires her today. Her work includes sculpture, lantern making and coiled work. She makes a wide selection of traditional and contemporary baskets with an emphasis on quality and sustainability and teaches at various centres in the area.
